is the successor to the long industrial tradition of pharmaceuticals and veterinary drug production in Pu?awy.
Here, in 1920, a State station was established for the control of cattle plaque- a very dangerous disease at that time. The success of this enterprise, the actual eradi-cation of this dangerous disease, became the foundation for the development of this activity:
- 1920 - Establishment of the station for the control of cattle plaque
- 1935 - Establishment of the Veterinary Faculty of the State Institute for Rural Husbandry, Pu?awy
- 1945 - Establishment of the productive section of the State Veterinary Institute, Pu?awy
- 1951 - Creation of the enterprise - ′′Pu?awskie Zak?ady Przemys?u Bioweterynaryjnego′′ or 'BIOWET' (Bio-veterinary Plant, Pu?awy).
- 1996 - Creation of the 'BIOWET' Production Company
- 1997 - The firm was taken over by the 'BIOWET PU?AWY' Production Company.
Over the last 89 years, the medications produced in Pu?awy have played a significant part in the eradication, therapy and control of such dangerous diseases as tuberculosis, brucellosis, Newcastle disease, Varroea in honey bees.
